Di Anne's Story
My Life
A major change in my life occured in the summer of 2004 when my husband of 22 years, Joe Galm, the former 7th grade Science teacher at Lincoln Middle School died due to a glioblastoma. For those of you who remember him you can join the group "In Memory of Mr. Galm" on Facebook. We had 3 great kids together. Joe earned a degree in Kinesiology from Penn State and works as a medical device specialist.. He enjoys golf, weightlifting but his passion is film. He and his wife, Amanda, have 3 beautiful children, Joey, Zofia, and Penelope. John, graduated with honors from Kutztown University with a BA in English Lit. He plays guitar, sings, writes his own music. John works as a payroll administrator at Lafayette College. Jillian, is an elementary school Art teacher in South Philly. She is my "hero", my inspiration in life and my best friend.
I married a great guy named Dan Russoli in July 2009. We dated for over 3 years trying to figured out how we were going to merge two families under one roof. He also has 3 children, Taylor, Connor and Rachel, so together we have the Brady Bunch remix.
I retired from teaching in 2017. I spent my last 20 years teaching Wellness /Fitness in the Catasauqua Area School District. I taught for 8 years at Sheckler Elementary School, 6 years at the Middle School and 6 years at CHS. I got to follow a group of s...Expand for more
tudents thru the years from K-12. I was just like Mr. Feeney from Boy Meets World. Before Catty, I spent five years at St. Michael the Archangel School in Limeport and Colesville to get back into teaching after spending nine years at home with my kids.
I graduated with honors from East Stroudsburg University with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education. I have Masters’ in Educational Technology and Instructional Media from Wilkes University. Professionally I was a Star Discovery Educator, served on the Leadership council and have been recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a State Keystone. I have presented at the PA Educational Technology Expo and Conference. In 2003 I co-authored a Carol M. White grant that was awarded $150,000 from the Federal government for the improvement of our district's Wellness/Fitness programs. I have worked on several state grant programs to improve the curriculum offered in the Catasauqua Area School District including a program to improve Adolescent Sexual Health Education.
I served as the Assistant Boys and Girls Volleyball coach at CHS and was a travel soccer coach for CYSA. I was a member of the North Catty Recreation Committee for 17 years. Now in my spare time I enjoy running/biking/working out, reading, traveling, going on adventures with my Gal Pals and playing with my grandkids.
